Katherine “Kate” Jones is a fertility lawyer who helps intended parents, surrogates, donors, and families with the legal side of assisted reproduction. Her work focuses on surrogacy agreements, donor agreements, parentage, and the legal steps that need to happen before fertility treatment can move forward.

Kate’s interest in fertility law is personal. In law school, she became close friends with Lee, who later went through IVF. Seeing that process up close, with all its uncertainty and the decisions that had to be made quickly, often without enough information, showed her that the legal side of treatment was its own burden, and that most people were carrying it alone.

She also knows this process from the other side. Kate became a mother through surrogacy, and that experience informs how she works with every client. She knows what it means to trust a legal process at a personal moment, and she takes that trust seriously.

Kate works with families building through IVF, donor conception, surrogacy, and LGBTQ+ family-building pathways, handling the legal layer so it isn’t one more thing to figure out mid-process. She collaborates closely with clinics and agencies, and understands how to fit into timelines that are already moving. As part of FindSurrogate, she helps the families here through the legal steps of the process with less uncertainty.
